Sheffield Potter Hill Methodist New Connexion chapel

On our partner My Primitive Methodists site, Joan Saul added a comment about High Green Primitive Methodist chapel – and pointed out that she could remember another Chapel at the top of Thompson Hill; it had New Connexion on the front.

The 1891 Ordnance Survey map shows the Methodist New Connexion chapel chapel in the V of the Near Potter Hill junction of Far Potter Hill Lane (now Hague Lane) with what was then Chapel Hill (now Potter Hill Lane). On the opposite side of Chapel Hill there is a smaller Sunday School building.  It was just north of the water works. The buildings are still there on the 1929 map.

Street View in 2008 shows it as a grassy area with 1960s housing where the Sunday School used to be.

Does anyone else remember this chapel and what happened to it?  Thanks to Joan for confirming the name as Potter Hill.
