Sheffield Shortridge Street Methodist New Connection Chapel

Shortridge Street, Methodist New Connection Chapel was built of stone before 1889 to replace a chapel in nearby Chapel Street. It was situated in a prominent site at the junction of Shortridge Street and Chippenham Place. By 1901 £3400 had been spent on the original construction and the subsequent enlargement of the chapel and school A further £60. had been spent on purchasing an organ. The chapel seated 400 and the school 320.

In 1940 the chapel estate consisted of the chapel which seated 424 in pews, a school hall and four other rooms. By 1953 the chapel had closed and the building was being used as a warehouse.
