The architect was the Nottingham based Thomas Simpson (1816-1880), who also designed the Alfred Street chapel in Nottingham, and other chapels across the country.
The building has now become the University Hall of Nottingham Trent University. They have made an excellent job of refurbishing the exterior so that it is possible to appreciate something of the impact which the building made when new.
