In 1940 Newton Chapel had 370 sittings on pews and there was two schoolrooms and five other rooms. In 1969-70 the chapel was closed and demolished. The site leaving a balance of £479. Housing has since been built on the site. There is a photograph of what I think is this chapel on display at the Millom Discovery Centre.
