Midgley Methodist New Connection Chapel (i) was built before 1860. By 1901 £500 had been spent on the original construction and the subsequent enlargement of the chapel which seated 200 school A further £30. had been spent on purchasing an organ. The chapel was later demolished to make way for a new chapel which was built in 1910
