There is no record, beyond the 1851 Religious Census return, of their being a Bible Christian chapel in Walberton. The problem is that there were other groups who described themselves as “Bible Christians” besides the Methodist group. The return was signed by Charles Ayling, Deacon, and an indecipheral signature of a minister from Worthing. The subsequent existence of a Baptist chapel in Walberton suggests this building a group who built a chapel in 1847, but were working their way towards the Baptists.
