Railton Road, Herne Hill United Methodist Free Church chapel was built in 1875. A report of its opening stated that
“The building is in the early English style and is constructed externally with Kentish rag with Bath stone dressings. The roof is open, of hammer beam type and is of sufficient height to allow the construction of galleries at some future time. Accommodation is provided for 600 persons, and the total cost has been £4.500. Messrs Cable and Sons were the architects”
