George Pearse Dymond was born on 13th May 1864 in Barnstaple, Devon, the eldest child of John Dymond , a Bible Christian minister, and his wife Marianna Pearse.
He attended Shebbear School, and taught there until 1887 when he was appointed headmaster of Hoe Grammar School, Plymouth, where he remained until 1937, and was very successful. Even in 1906 he was prominent enough in the Bible Christian community to have his biography in W.J. Mitchell’s Brief biographical sketches of Bible Christian Ministers and Laymen.
He continued to excel as an educationalist, local politician, and United Methodist layman after 1906. He was a JP, a Liberal Councillor from 1917 on and mayor of Plymouth in 1931. He was one of the United Methodist Guardian Representatives from 1910 until 1932. Secretary of the United Methodist Conference in 1913 he was Vice-President of the Methodist Conference in 1934.
He married Martha Ann Grills (1860-1928) in Plymouth on 23rd December 1887 and they had seven children together:

- Doris Mattie (1894-1912)
- Lilian May (1894-1974)
- Sybil Marie (1898-1898)
Following Martha’s death he remarried to Emily Rose McIntyre Trembath on 22nd August 1929.
He died in Plymouth on 24th September 1939
