Kimberley Wesleyan Reform Chapel, Nottinghamshire

G W Oxley

Kimberley Wesleyan Reform Chapel was bult by the Wesleyans in 1822 but had been taken over Reformers by 1851. At present we have no knowledge of this congregation between 1851 and the opening of a new chapel in Nottingham Road (qv) by their successors the United Methodist Free Church in 1890. The chapel may perhaps be a building labelled “Chapel” on the 1878 map but which had lost this label by the next edition in 1899. It was situated towards the end of a lane now known as Chapel Place which runs northwards from Station Road which was then called Quarry Street
