Kimberley Nottingham Road, Wesley United Methodist Free Church was built of brick in 1890. It was situated on the south side of Nottingham Road west of Broomhill Road. In 1940 the premises consisted of a chapel which seated 650 (600 in 1970), as school hall which seated 400 in 1970 and five (down to three in 1970) other rooms. The building was subsequently closed as a Methodist place of worship. The ground floor (former Sunday school) is now occupied by a funeral director but the remainder of the building is empty and up for sale. The agent’s website (The Old Methodist Church – FHP | Kimberley | For sale | FHP) has some excellent images of the interior. They show that the building has been floored over at gallery level and include details of the organ, rostrum, gallery, decorated glassj and roof construction.
