Whitwell chapel and the adjoining school were built of brick in 1901. The chapel seated 250 and the school 150. The building cost £1400 and a further £100 was spent on musical instruments. In 1940 the accommodation consisted of a chapel which seated 250 in pews, a school hall and two other rooms
