In 1941 Long Eaton, High Street, Zion Methodist New Connexion Chapel seated 480 in pews. There were two schoolrooms and five other rooms. The chapel occupied a prominent position at the head of Main Street where it meets High Street.
The First World War memorial tablet from the chapel is now (2022) in Ilkeston Town Museum. It reads:
“This memorial tablet was originally situated at Zion Church, Long Eaton and was erected in memory of the eighteen members of the Zion Church and Sunday school who gave their lives in the service of their country during the First World War.
The memorial was unveiled on Sunday 19th December 1920 by Rev GG Hornby”
