Whilst out walking with friends in September 2022 we came across this former Wesleyan Reform chapel in the small Derbyshire village of Over Haddon.
A carved stone oval on the chapel carries the date 1861 whilst the porch carries the date 1963.
The building looks disused, but carries a small painted sign identifying itself. Old Ordnance Survey maps show no other chapels in the village, only St Anne’s church
What’s the story here? Thanks to Philip Thornborow, you can learn a little more in Derbyshire Historic Environment Records here.
