The attached transcription, of an article published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine in 1926, explores the role  that Alexander Kilham played in bringing democracy onto church oversight.

It highlights some of the issues that led to the formation of the Methodist New Connexion, namely lay representation in Conference and celebration of Holy Communion.
