The first Bible Christian chapel in the parish of Kea, on Chycowling Downs was registered in 1837. It is recorded on the Registrar General’s list of public places of worship in 1867.
In 1906 a new chapel was built in Quenchwell, and this building then continued to serve as the Sunday School. The story is told, with illustrations, on Mapping Methodism
