Macclesfield, Park Street Methodist New Connection Chapel was built in 1836. In 1940 there was seating for 1500 in pews and a schoolroom and seven other rooms. It is now in residential use

  • This is a good question. The chapel was sold in the 1950s to a printing company, so the question is when the graves were removed. The Burials Act prohibits removal of remains without a licence, so the local authority should have a record.

  • What happened to the graves/gravestones originally in the Chapel yard? My 3rd great grandfather, Joseph Leah, was laid to rest there in 1846.
