Glossop, Simmondley Lane, Tabernacle UMFC was built in 1860 at a cost of £1000 and seated 300. In 1894-5 it was described as “a plain stone building”. By 1923 £7,600 had been spent on the original construction, alterations and extensions. The chapel seated 414.
The adjoining day school cost £1300. It had mixed and infants departments and could accommodate 400 but by 1894-5 the attendance was nearer 125
