The former Mottram Methodist New Connexion chapel is said to be the oldest surviving Methodist chapel in the Manchester area which is still in use as a place of worship.
Built in 1791 as a Methodist meeting house, it changed to the Methodist New Connexion in 1803 and became a Congregational church in c.1850. In 2021 it is Hope Christian Centre. Alterations to the building were made in 1836 and 1852. A plaque records the Congregational name of the church.
It is a grade II Listed Building and you can see a picture and read a description here.
