Penrose Bible Christian chapel was built in 1861. It is a listed building and was in the care of the Historic Chapels Trust New arrangements were being made in 2026.
The significance of this chapel is that it is now “the best example of only three simple wayside chapels in Cornwall which are both externally and internally complete.” (the Historic England listing). It was a small chapel, seating only 65.
We know why it has been preserved: can anyone provide us with stories relating to its use?
