Redditch Mount Pleasant United Methodist Free Church chapel

Ludlow Road, Redditch B97 4JB

Mount Pleasant United Methodist chapel on Ludlow Road in Redditch is included in the Inventory of Methodist Buildings compiled after Methodist Union in 1932 and published in 1940. It is recorded as brick built, with seating for 370 people on pews.  In addition to the main hall, there were two Sunday school rooms and 3 other rooms. In 1940 it was in Redditch Methodist circuit.

It was the only chapel of the 17 in the Redditch circuit recorded as having suffered wartime damage.

In 2024, Bonham House, a block of flats, is on the site.

Worcester and Dudley Historic Churches website tells us: “Built 1833, rebuilt in 1899 after designs by H.R. Lloyd.  It later became a WRVS Day Centre.  Demolished c.2008 “
