An enquiry about a Primitive Methodist chapel at Killingworth led to the discovery of a United Methodist chapel – although we couldn’t find the Prim one.

The 1897 Ordnance Survey map shows the chapel labelled as “Meth chapel (United Free). ” On the 1913 map it has become labelled “UM chapel”. The site is in residential use in 2023

Tyne and Wear Archives contain meeting minutes and a baptism register created between the dates 1874 – 1927.
