This chapel was built in 1901, on the corner of Heaton Road and Simonside Terrace.
In 1940 it could seat 800, a capacity that seems to have been reduced to 630, but with a Sunday School for 233 scholars, in 1970.
The church was sold for redevelopment in 2021.
Can anyone tell us more about this church, built to erve the community of Heaton on Tyneside? What came before? Tyne and Wear Archives have catalogued a baptismal register dating back to 1883, so where were these children baptised?
