Cornwall Chapels Photos and History

Bodmin, Fraddon, Goonhavern, Greenbottom, Innis, Kerley Down, Redruth, Truro St Clement, Wadebridge, Wheal Busy, Wheal Rose and White Rose

As part of a project elsewhere I am tracking down all the churches and chapels of Cornwall. Those that are lost and still standing, with as much history as I can find.

I thought I should put them on this site as well, since it has been useful to me when trying to track down some history. I’ll not repeat those already here.

Wheal Busy Bible Christian chapel is dated 1863. It stands along a single track lane. It is described as one of the best surviving complete examples of the simple wayside chapel in Cornwall and one of only 6 examples of its type to retain all the original fittings including box pews This chapel still holds occasional services and celebrations including (small) weddings

  • Do you have an image of the Wesleyan Church at St Columb Major. It was demolished in 1963 and turned into a carpark
