Elizabeth Courtice was as a female itinerant preacher between 1820 to 1830/31. She married fellow preacher Andrew Cory (1794-1833) on 8 Apr 1832 in St. Gluvias, Cornwall. Tragically, Andrew drowned on the 24 Sep 1833. Their only child Annie Cory was born the following January.
Elizabeth and Annie came to Canada in 1852, along with other family members, to join Elizabeth’s other siblings, Thomas, Christopher and Harriet, who had immigrated in the early 1830’s. Their brother William Courtice (1792-1866), a prominent Bible Christian Minister, remained in England.
