Eynon, Elizabeth Dart and John Hicks - Tombstone at Bethesda Cemetery

Elizabeth Dart (1792-1857) was amongst the first preachers recruited by William O’Bryan in 1815 and served as an itinerant preacher and missionary her entire life.  She married fellow preacher John Hicks Eynon (1801-1888) on the 17th of Mar 1833 in Padstow, Cornwall.  The couple left for Upper Canada to serve as missionaires in May 1833. Her letters and journal entries were published in the Bible Christian Magazine throughout her lifetime, as well as those of her husband, which form the backbone of what is known about the early history of Bible Christian Connexion in Upper Canada.
