Elland Methodist New Connexion chapel was built before 1861. It was probably closed when Victoria Road, Bethesda Methodist New Connexion chapel opened in 1880.

The 1851 Religious census returns for Halifax Registration District (HO129/498) are missing, so no return for Elland MNC can be found. The earliest Ordnance Survey 6 inch map of the area was surveyed in 1848, and published in 1854 and it shows the chapel (see red arrow on the image). It was in exactly the same location as Victoria Road, Bethesda.
