Sutterton United Methodist Free Church

D Secker

The former chapel is a small structure located on Post Office Lane, built in 1854 by those who seceded from the Wesleyans.

It was in the Boston UMFC/UMC Circuits.

To a great extent it was eclipsed by the Wesleyan chapel in the village, especially after the new build in 1927. The UM closed around the time of union, leaving the Wesleyan as the sole Methodist presence in Sutterton.

The extant building is now a private dwelling called The Old Chapel. The datestone on the front gable reads: Methodist Free Church 1854.
