The former Treveighan Bible Christian chapel, at the junction of Chapel Lane with the main road, is still in 2021 an active Methodist church with 9 members. It carries a datestone for 1828.
It is a Grade II listed Building and you can see the specification and picture here. The Listing tells us that it was built by Edward Hocken, with walls of stone rubble with granite quoins, rendered on the front and a slate roof with hipped ends. At the far end of the rectangular floor plan is a small carriage house for a horse and trap.
Internally there is a folding wooden plank screen behind the pulpit dividing chapel and Sunday school.

The symbols are E H- Edward Hocken was a local farmer who supported the Bible Christian cause and built the chapel at his own expense.
I’ve added a picture of the datestone at Treveighan Bible Christian chapel, provided by Daniel Murphy. Daniel would like to know what the symbols in the top corners of the datestone mean. Are they Hebrew words?
